　　Through the study of this course, students are supposed to grasp accurately the main theses of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, to understand the philosophical thoughts of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, to establish Marxist world view and its view of life and values, to enhance their level of theoretical thinking, and to improve their capability of analyzing problems.
